Reference Management Tools help scholars to create and manage their lists of references for research projects. Most tools are designed to organize citations into specific formats for the preparation of manuscripts and bibliographies.

EndNote is the industry standard software tool for publishing and managing bibliographies, citations and references.  You can use it to search online databases, manage your references, images and full text documents, and create citation lists instantly. Instead of spending hours organizing your citations and references, you do it the easy way by using EndNote.

To download EndNote, please contact IT Service Desk or call 1111.

Mendeley is a free Reference Manager and an Academic social network.  You can create your personal account in Mendeley directly from the website. Use one of your e-mail addresses to sign up! It doesn’t have to be your KU mail.

As a second step, download the Desktop version either for Windows, MAC OS and Linux and to get the Web Importer/Citation Plugin tools to further enhance your research.

Zotero is a free and open-source reference management software to manage bibliographic data and related research materials.  You can freely download, install, and use it directly from the website.
