Group Study Booths

The Group Study Booths are suitable for in-person, interactive, small group projects or meetings. Group members who gather around four-person booths can collaborate on a large 42″ plasma screen which all group members can watch. The Study Booths in Suna Kıraç Library are available on a first-come first-served basis so do not require a reservation in advance. Reasonable low-level talking may be permitted at the booths but please respect the others in the learning environment. 24-Hour Study Hals

One 24-Hour Study Hall is available in the Library. This room is open 7 days/ 24 hours. It is equipped with 8 computers and 2 printers.

All users can also access wireless network in this hall.

Team Study Rooms

18 Team Study Rooms are available in the Library. Rooms must be used by group of students. The Team Study Rooms can only be used by current students, faculty and staff of Koç University by reservation from theRoom Booking page.

User must show their ID cards to the librarian at the Reserve Desk to get a key for the Room. The group is responsible for keeping room tidy and clean. The late return of the room key will lead to a fine of 2.5TL per hour.

Reading Hall (Atrium)

The users may find all current print journals, daily newspapers in this Hall.

The current issues can be checked out overnight or at the weekends by faculty or staff. Their old issues are bound and placed on the shelves according to their subject areas.

SKL provides a number of Turkish and foreign newspapers. These newspapers can only be read in this Hall.

Computers and a printer are made available for users. This area is covered by wireless internet network.

Photocopy Machines

Two machines are available in the Library. They are located at the Basement and Second Floors for self-service photocopying in the Library. They must be used in accordance with the provisions of copyright laws.

To take photocopy, users should use their KU ID or PlayCards. The cards should be activated before the first use. The activation can be done when first used. Only for the first usage, students should enter their T.C. identity numbers and KU mail passwords to be able to use the machines. The studenst  and other users who don’t have a KU ID Card can take help from Information Desk at the Basement Floor.

For conservation reasons, photocopies cannot be taken from rare materials, damaged or fragile books, as well as very lage or heavy volumes.

Self-Check Machine

The Library has 1 self-check machine through which the users can check-in/ out their books.

To check-out books, the users must have their University ID Card and need to follow the steps on the Self-Check Machine screen. The KU ID Card is not needed for check-in.

Rare Book Room

Books categorized as rare books are those stored in the Nesteren and Fuat Bayramoglu Collection Room on the First Floor.

These books can only be used by appointment. An appointment can be set by an e-mail to libcirculation@ku.edu.tr.

All users of rare books are required to read and agree with the policy of Rare Book Collection.
