Koç University Library Internship Opportunities

We are eagerly seeking an Erasmus+ (Traineeships abroad for students) Interns who is willing to collaborate with our Suna Kıraç Library (SKL) Digital Collections and Archives Team at Koç University in Istanbul. Below, you can find all the necessary details for the application:

General information

Duration: 4 – 12 months

Commitment: Full-time

Description:

We are currently looking for an intern to join the Suna Kıraç Library Special Collections and Archive Department of Koç University. The internship dates are to be negotiated with successful applicants and must be 4 months minimum. However, the applications of the participants whose internship dates are longer will be prioritized.

Main Responsibilities:

• Contributing to Koç University’s Digital Collections and Archive Projects:
  • Assistance with metadata entry into the digital assets management system powered by Content DM – OCLC
  • Contribution to Digitization Efforts
  • Participation in Archival Storage Practices
  • Applications for International Funding Programs

Compensation:

No financial compensation, only use of service bus to commute

Requirements:

• Being an undergraduate or graduate student at a university
• Minimum Proficient User C1 / Excellent command of English

Subject Background / Areas of Expertise:

• Library and Information Science
• Archival Science
• Archives and Records Management
• Paper Conservation
• Conservation & Restoration

Skills:

• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
• Willingness to learn how to use ContentDM
• Proficient in Dublin Core Metadata Standards.
• Basic knowledge of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) (not mandatory)
• Turkish proficiency (Preferably)
