Suna Kıraç Library offers research analysis reports to help measure the impact of Koç University researchers with important bibliometrics and altmetrics tools.

We prepare research performance reports for you that include analysis, benchmarking of your progress to help develop collaborative partnerships and see the research trends using online data collection & analysis tools such as Web of Science, Scopus, SciVal and Google Scholar.

These tools allow us to identify quickly the number of your publications, citations, h-indexes, the top authors, countries, organizations and sources in your research fields.

Bibliometric data sources:

Clarivate solutions (Thomson Reuters) : Web of Science/Publons

Web of Science Core Collection is our premier resource on the platform and the world’s most trusted citation index for scientific and scholarly research.

It is a curated collection of over 20,000 peer-reviewed, high-quality scholarly journals published worldwide (including Open Access journals) in over 250 science, social sciences, and humanities disciplines. Conference proceedings and book data are also available at the collection.

Suna Kıraç Library can analyze results upon request to find your publications, h-indexes and create citation reports or generate a list of institutions ranked by record count based on the query.

The analysis data can also be extracted as displayed or all data rows (up to 200,000 rows). The data downloads as tab-delimited text file which can be opened in Excel and formatted into columns using the import wizard. Treemap and bar graphs are given to visualize your analysis results to be used in your presentations.

Publons:

Publons provides trusted citation metrics, imported from the Web of Science Core Collection and correct author attribution, with your unique ResearcherID automatically added to the publications you claim in Web of Science collections.

We use Publons to track your publications, citation metrics, peer reviews, and journal editing work in a single, easy-to-maintain profile of you.

A comprehensive suite of metrics embedded throughout Scopus is designed to help facilitate evaluation and provide a better view of your research interests. Whether you are looking for metrics at the journal, article or author level, we combine Scopus sophisticated analytical capabilities with its unbiased and broad content coverage to help you build valuable insights.

SciVal:

SciVal is one of the bibliometric tools that can be used to analyse and visualize the positioning of research of individuals, groups and institutes.

We can use SciVal for example to create author evaluation reports, identify a publication strategy, and to find new collaborations for you or your research group upon request.

SciVal uses the Scopus database and provides publication information and metrics of over 10,000 research institutions, countries and individual researchers.

We can define your publication sets, groups or research areas by using keywords, importing publications from Scopus for example. We can also collect and group names of colleagues or collaborators to analyse group performances.

CiteScore: a new metric to help you track journal performance and make decisions

Elsevier is launching CiteScore metrics as a new standard that gives a more comprehensive, transparent and current view of a journal’s impact that will help you guide your journal more effectively in the future.

CiteScore metrics are part of the Scopus basket of journal metrics that includes SNIP (Source Normalized Impact per Paper), SJR (SCImago Journal Rank), citation- and document- counts and percentage cited. The integration of these metrics into Scopus provides insights into the citation impact of more than 22,220 titles.

Suna Kıraç Library can prepare reports using this source to find a journal and view associated metrics such as journal impact factors.

Google Scholar Solution:

A Google Scholar profile is a very simple way of collating your publications and citations to them so that others can find your work and often find an accessible copy that they can read. Once you have set up your profile, you can choose automatic updates so you don’t need to spend a lot of time updating your publications list. If you create a Google Scholar profile, your profile will come high up the page rankings if people are searching for your work.

If you are working in an area that is not well covered by the Scopus or Clarivate bibliometric tools above, Suna Kıraç Library can use the free Publish or Perish software to analyse and create a report of your citations using the data from your Google Scholar profile.

Be aware that this free service is provided by Google and may not be continued indefinitely.

Suna Kıraç Library provides Google Scholar Metrics as an easy way for Koç University authors to quickly gauge the visibility and influence of recent articles in scholarly publications.

Scholar Metrics summarize recent citations to many publications, to help authors as they consider where to publish their new research.

Altmetrics: Who is talking about your research?

Altmetrics are metrics and qualitative data that are complementary to traditional, citation-based metrics. They can showcase the attention and influence of your research on social media. We have these altmetrics tools below to measure your research impact on Facebook, Twitter etc.

PlumX Metrics:

PlumX Metrics -already available on Scopus records- are comprehensive, item (article)-level metrics that provide insights, beyond traditional citation metrics, into the ways people interact with individual pieces of research output (articles, conference proceedings, book chapters, and more).

Koç University Library has a Scopus subscription that can be accessed via Library database page. When we search your articles in Scopus we can see all Scopus & PlumX Metrics in 5 different categories: Citations, Usage, Captures, Mentions and Social Media.

Thousands of conversations about scholarly content happen online every day. Altmetric tracks a range of sources to capture and collate this activity, helping us to monitor and report on the attention surrounding the work you care about.
