New “How to Use” Videos Are Available on Video Hub
|
Discovering an author's influence in their field is now easier with the Field Weighted Citation Impact (FWCI). Simply gather citation data from reputable databases, categorize by field, and calculate the average citations per paper. Divide this by the world average to get the FWCI. A value above 1 signifies above-average impact. In this video you may explore How to Find a FWCI (Field Weighted Citation Impact) for Authors to gauge an author's scholarly footprint and evaluate your research impact within a specific field.
In addition to this if you're moving from Mendeley to EndNote, the process is simple! In Mendeley, export your library as an RIS file. Then, in EndNote, go to 'File' and choose 'Import.' then proceed with the RIS option, locate your file, and let EndNote work its magic. Your citations smoothly transition from one platform to another, ensuring a hassle-free research journey. For details, please watch our How Can I Transfer Citation Records From Mendeley to EndNote video on the Library Video Hub.

LIBR500 Fall 2023: Accomplishments & Reflections
|
The course aims to introduce graduate students to a wealth of library resources and services specifically curated to meet their needs, learn key points and tools for referencing, explore Open Science and Open Access mindset, and maximize their research impact.
Since Spring 2022, the course has been taken every semester as mandatory. 186 graduate students completed the online course in Fall 2023- the highest rate so far! Now, we would like to present some reflections from our graduate student community:
“All of the tools are very necessary for research and beneficial for me from the first day. During my bachelor I did not have the chance to learn about Mendeley or Scopus but I will definitely use them from now on.”
“The general introduction to library services was helpful, and the other modules about citation, managing with academic profile were really critical and important for a new graduate student.”
“I particularly found the citation software, general library opportunities and journal selection lectures very useful. It helped me to consider Zotero or Mendeley as a citation tool, ask the library about resources I cannot reach and also avoid predatory journals by checking criteria such as lofty promises, short review processes, grammar use, address etc.”
