Library Webinar Series

The Library’s Distance Learning Practices

All of us in Suna Kıraç Library we hope that you are safe and healthy in these unsettling times. Whilst you are adjusting to spend more time at home, we want to make sure we support your skills development as researchers.

Library information literacy courses provide students, faculty, and staff with an understanding of today’s global information environment. These courses focus on locating, evaluating, and using information resources competently and ethically; support the research goals of the university curriculum, and help the research community with the information and skills needed to become empowered citizens of today’s complex society.

Organizing information literacy classes face to face was not possible during the Covid-19 pandemic. But, the Library has organized various online instructions and webinars to support KU researchers in the topics of reference management tools, online survey tools, bibliometrics, citation analysis, researcher IDs, and many more.

You can check the Library's current Workshops & Events Calendar to view the scheduled webinars and the access registration links.

Webinars

Since the beginning of the outbreak (from to March 15 to April 30th), the Library held 32 webinars and almost 550 KU Community members have joined these sessions. We also launched a new web page titled “ Library Video Hub” for sharing recorded sessions accessible with your KU Blackboard or Panopto accounts. You can see more about our distance learning efforts below.

Library Video Hub

Instruction Librarians

The Instruction Librarians

Instruction librarians became proactive and successfully carried out the Library’s online training sessions, during the COVID-19 period. They promoted the library resources, guided students and researchers to the information they seek, engaged faculty in conversations about their work and the Libraries’ involvement in it, taught students how to better search, access, and use the information and the tools available to them.
