Spring is here!!! Days are getting longer, sun is getting brighter, leaves are getting greener, flowers blossom, birds are singing louder…Our March issue celebrates Spring and participates in the UN International Day of Happiness, “recognizing the relevance of happiness and well-being as universal goals and aspirations in the lives of human beings around the world”.

Topics include - but are not limited to – the recent changes in the Library’s Liaisons and the Library’s New Entrance.

Liaisons and New Distribution

The new year came with a few changes in the Library’s organization chart. Among others, under the scope of providing high quality services to the academic community, we re-organized and re-distributed our Liaison team. More librarians are involved in that, taking under their responsibility one or more of the Faculties.

New Library Entrance

Since Monday February 11th, we opened a new entrance, located at the West side of the Basement of the Library. The door connects the Library to the main corridor at the -2nd floor of the Study Center and can be found next to the Parking area. This additional entrance operates for limited hours while the main entrance stays open7/24. You can use this door from Monday to Friday, 08:00am - 8:00pm.

Library users are kindly requested to be quiet while both entering or exiting the Library from this door, as it is near the open study places.

The door will be monitored by cameras for security reasons.

Now Available on the Website: New Titles in the ANAMED Library!

The ANAMED Library has a rich collection in Archeology, Anthropology, History of Architecture, Art History, Cultural heritage, Cultural conservation, History, Museum studies and Urban studies. The development process of this collection can now be followed through the ANAMED website. New books and journals can be browsed on the “Library” section, “New Arrivals” tab, which is to be regularly updated in the upcoming months. A Blind Date With a Book!

Users of the Health Sciences Library were expecting a surprise on February 14th… A blind date with a book! It might seemed strange at first, but it was a very pleasant activity. At first, we put the books we chose in the gift packages, then we wrote short notes with information about the books on the packages and the books were ready to meet their readers.

On February 14, library users chose the right “match” for them and after they left the Library, they spent February 14 reading a mysterious book…
